Balanço do Sistema Nervoso Autónomo em doentes com AVC

Abstract

O acidente vascular cerebral constitui uma das principais causas de morbimortalidade nos países ocidentais. O seu impacto no Sistema Nervoso Autónomo e o deste nos restantes sistemas do organismo têm vindo a ser estudadas ao longo das últimas décadas. O objectivo do presente trabalho passa por conhecer as alterações existentes no funcionamento do sistema cardiovascular após um AVC, compreender a génese dessas alterações e conhecer os métodos que permitem chegar às conclusões apresentadas. Além disso são, também, apresentadas as consequências patológicas dessas alterações e algumas perspectivas em relação a possíveis terapêuticas. Para a elaboração desse trabalho foi efectuada uma pesquisa e revisão de literatura médica disponível em bases de dados electrónicas.

Stroke is one of the leading causes of morbimortality in western countries and its consequences on other organic systems caused by changes on autonomic nervous system had been studied over the last decades. The purpose of this study is to know the existing changes in the functioning of the cardiovascular system after a stroke, understand the causes of these changes and know the methods which allow us to achieve the presented conclusions. Beyond that are also presented pathological consequences of these changes and some perspectives of possible therapeutics. A survey and review of available medical literature was performed on electronical database.
